About Event Summaries and Standings

A crosstable is a table that shows all players’ results in a tournament by section. The crosstable can take different forms. We post two different versions on this website; here is an explanation of how the two versions differ:

The Event Summary is created by the US Chess Federation from the rating report files submitted for the subject tournament. The Event Summary includes only rated sections and shows the new official ratings for all players. Players are listed in order by their new rating within score groups, without taking tiebreaks into consideration.

The Final Standings are created from the tournament software used to run the tournament. They show all sections, rated and non-rated, and they list players in order by tiebreaks within score groups. New ratings are not shown for players in the rated sections because they must be calculated by the USCF.
